I DON'T WANNA TOUCH THE INDIAN!!! (Children)

A local group in my area thought for some reason that it would be a good idea to expose children to deadbeats & criminals that may have possibly fathered them. To spread the word to single mothers, they advertise it...on a pizza box. I had a good laugh when I saw the final plug for this. It won't strike you instantly, but if you reeeally observe closely, you can pick up something cute. Their eyes have been censored to protect any identity they may have. These children are obviously of different racial backgrounds, but let's pretend for a second that where they're holding their hands on the
globe, is representative of where their race of origin resides. All are kinda correct, except for the girl in the blue shirt. Who apparently is a member of the lost tribes of Atlantis. ( I suppose she just ran out of space or something, or didn't wanna touch some Indian's hand.)

On the cover it's advertised as a fun event, but on the back lies a message telling mothers about the equipment they have there that can do tests. I wonder if they do birthdays?

"My Arm Hurts" (Children)

Okaaaaay, this one is fairly obvious. The girl's arm has been bent past most bearable torture levels for children, and even though it's out of current jurisdiction, there's some random hand still on the mother. Most likely from the guy they tried to edit out the ad. Although, kinda ironic that it says "Professional quality photos" at the bottom left. See more torture-iffic things like this at photoshop disasters.
I am however disappointed that we didn't get the iPhone observation out in time. Maybe next month. ;)

"Sprint...For The Nearest Verizon Wireless Office!" (Cellphones)

"Romeo, where art thou?"
Today we're observing cellphones in general. Not the iPhone, just the plain Jane cellphone for right now. We'll leave the companies alone until another month. But it's no lie that the main purpose for cellphones has been distorted beyond all conceivable recognition. (Again, the iPhone.) In fact, we sometimes forget that cellphones used to look like this. It's funny how time can out-do itself. Ultimately, there is nothing wrong with the cellphone of yesterday. And by yesterday, I mean 2006 or something. It's when everything gets so crazy and overly "modern," that it can't even make phone calls anymore. The makers of the iPhone, (Next post) probably are aware of the lack of need for a call-making service. I'm sure they'll be on it soon enough. Because, today's teen would rather use their phone to play and assort the latest clubz songz, than call their parents to say,
"I'm gonna be 6 hours late coming home from school, don't wait up!" The first and foremost priority of a modern cellphone is apparently to distract and waste the time of anyone who uses it. I totally agree things would suck if we could only make calls on a hooked to the house, wired, and tan colored phone. But we've gone too far, too soon. You agree? ;)

Next and final post for this season of technology will be the iPhone. Stay tuned, and subscribe. ;)

"The War Has Just Begun" (Blu-Ray VS DVD)

First question, do you own a blu-ray player? Didn't think so. If you do, click here. Sorry, I shouldn't be so one-sided right off the bat. It's just that some of us have barely made the transition from VHS to DVD. And that was a significant change! Now you have to be uprooted again to make the switch to blu-ray. It's like the world is pushing out crap (Slightly improved crap) as fast as possible.  As for quality, I'm sure blu ray is better on most of it's copies. However, it's kinda like you're eating a pie, and it's really okay. But then someone comes along and tells you that there's a better pie that's tastier and in a higher definition. Even if you don't try that new pie, there's always the fear that it was better than yours. Thus, your pie starts to taste worse & worse. (That sounded much better in my head.)

Either way, your life has been ruined. Why do you think blu-ray has that extra buzz behind it? Is it just clever marketing & timing? Using cool words like "HD," and "ray?" Or, is it genuinely just a better quality, and the future of at-home movie watching? Having seen loads of DVDs, but seeing almost no blu-ray, count this as just an observation of DVDs, as opposed to both DVDs and blu-rays. As far as quality goes, I think DVDs are fine in and of themselves. And unless you're blinded by pure nostalgia, they beat Videotape hands down.
Having special features is awesome! One time, a VHS tape of mine actually had an "interactive" game on it that played after the main movie. It asked a bomb trivia question, stilled for 30 seconds, and then buzzed incorrect. IT'S A FREAKING VIDEOTAPE! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? But on the other hand, DVD has it's problems too. Like how you can't skip the previews or the FBI warnings sometimes. That's bummer. And I'm sure blu-ray is no different when it comes to that.

But yes, that was only real question I asked. "Do you own a blu-ray player?"

"This Here's For Young'uns!" (Xbox 360)

Currently owning an Xbox 360, (and currently not being very good with it) I've discovered that there's more to the console than just dorky or angry teens/young adults playing the latest shoot em' ups. True, my Brother owns about 9 of those games, but that's probably a weak collection compared to a lot of other guys. Since we function as a family, we've purchased numerous family friendly games for the 360. Such as, Beautiful Katamari...and others. As far as problems with the 360, we've only ever received the "Red Ring of Death" about two times. Which isn't a whole lot considering the reputation of...

But I digress. Well, not really, but I need to stay more focused. I am however, in love with the DVD playing feature. Sadly, that's all we really use it for anymore. Using the 360 to play DVDs seems a lot cooler than using a real DVD player for some reason. Maybe it's because now, the common DVD player looks out of date and old in comparison to a Blu ray player. Hmm, maybe the war between DVDs and Blu ray will be the next observation.

My Box of Joy (Nintendo Gamecube)

Growing up, the Nintendo Gamecube was my first console, and my first real taste of advanced tech. We got it late after it's release, but years before there was even a commercial for the Wii. We weren't rich, so we only got the games that we reeeeeeally wanted. Such as, SSBMelee, Super Mario Sunshine, and SSX3, just to name a few. As far as tech goes, sometimes the Gamecube demonstrated better processing with graphics than even the Wii! We had this special controller for the Gamecube, it had this cool air blowing feature to keep your hands cool, and an extra long cord. (Seen right) The Gamecube wasn't only my first console, it was my first love. That's why I included it in the favorite console poll. Because it may mean a lot to someone. Granted, it may not. But still, to a degree, I believe in sentimental value. Yes, this is as nostalgic as I can really get. I've played some old games before, but nothing too too old.

Introduction (Webcams)

Hello, didn't see you there. ;)
I know that's corny, but it's true. I really can't see you, unless I have a webcam thingy
All the ones I've ever used or witnessed have had this kinda grainy quality. And I'm like, "what's the point of being seen if you're gonna look like crap when they see you." I'm sure they make high def, or high quality webcams, but I prefer to just be there in person, or take the time to doll up, and then make a video. The webcam has it's advantages, like capturing the anger of someone when they've lost their game, or having a sexy chat with a girlfriend over long distance, or dare I say, allowing old people to see their grand kids, even if they're cities apart. Wow, I went off track. Congratulations, you've read my observation of webcams. If you agree with me, you hit the agree button. If you don't, you can figure out the rest. ;)
